These islands give the bay of Baiona exceptional beauty and protect it from the open sea. There are two larger islands (Estela de Dentro, of 9.6 hectares, and Estela de Fóra, of 7) and a group of isles known as As Serralleiras, as well as some other small islands and several rock formations. The archipelago has an area of 19 hectares in total.
