This food festival celebrates two typical products from the Ulla region: eel and aguardiente (a local alcoholic beverage). It offers them prepared in many different ways: the eel can be stewed, fried, served in a pie, with peppers, boiled potatoes, the new ‘Bella Otero’-style (with rice) or in a tasting menu. A conxuro (‘spell’) is performed at the end of the festival, and there are tastings of aguardiente doughnuts and the impressive queimada (a traditional punch made by burning aguardiente).
