It is a complex formed by two buildings. Only the walls, two wheels and the bases of the machinery used to generate electricity remain nowadays. The buildings had both two floors plus the roof. Under the soil there is still a passage through which the water flowed and where a wheel was once located. The power plant was opened on 13 June 1895 to provide electricity to the town of Ponteareas, at the same time that electricity reached other big Galician cities.
