The parish of Santa Cristina was listed in a 13th century document, stating its donation from the king Ferdinand IV and his wife Constance of Portugal to the Bishop of Tui, so it is understood that there was an old church before the current one, which dates from 1915.
The entrance of the sacristy keeps an old arcade that belonged to a 16th century factory. In addition, it boasts an impressive pointed tower with a clock.
