The Pazo de Santa Cruz is an unique place also known as Pazo de Quitapesares. It was built in 1659 by Fernando de la Rúa Freire, abbot of Bueu and commissioner of the Holy Office. He was also lord of the Castrelo and Ouril pazos.
It has three coats of arms, a battlemented tower, an hórreo and, in the past, a dovecote. In 1671, a late-Gothic chapel honouring Santa Ifigenia was built in the property. However there is no image of her in its main altar, but an ebony and ivory cross that gives the pazo its name. A large English greenhouse was installed in 2008 and nowadays it is used as a wedding venue.
