This is a rock which can be reached at low tide. It gets its name from the fact that, in Medieval times, a man-shaped tomb was excavated here, and later, a priest was buried in it. Although there is no documentary evidence of a monastery, nor are there ruins of one, there must have been a community of hermit monks - as was the case on other Galician islands, even much smaller ones - as is shown by the place name and the man-shaped sarcophagus known as Laxe do Crego (the Priest's Rock). This tomb was sealed with a very large, heavy slab, but according to the histories of the island, this large slab was dislodged by a storm in the middle of the 20th Century
