The A Ramallosa nature reserve integrates different ecosystems such as marshlands, the Ladeira dune system, Baiona cove, and the Estelas Islands. At low tide and dusk, it is a very beautiful sight: the reeds gleam as cormorants and anatidae soar over the marshland, and the river water laps into the sea. At this time, the main species found in these waters - for example the European eel, European seabass, and some salmon - swim aimlessly between the ría and A Ramallosa bridge, making it a great place for fishermen
