The chapel is attached to the Montesacro pazo and was built at the same time during the 18th century. It is semi-public and dedicated to the Virgen de la Valvanera, usually linked to Riojan tradition and brought to these lands by the Marquises of Montesacro. The festivity is celebrated on 7th and 8th September in the fishermen’s quarter of San Tomé.
