Ruta do Mosteiro is a 7.8 km-long circular route of moderate difficulty that starts at Mirador da Pedreira, the lookout located in the road between Oia and Torroña. We ascend from the lookout towards the petroglyphs of A Pedreira, all while admiring the wonderful views to the port and the Monastery of Oia. A detour to the left leads us to the area known as O Viveiro. Nearby, there are several sets of carvings, signalled with posts and panels, among which the Auga dos Cebros ensemble stands out. From Alto do Visiño, we take a trail to descend to Vilar that continues towards the town cemetery. After sharing 1.5 km of trail with the Coastal Portuguese Way, heading the opposite direction, we arrive to Praza Centinela, where the tourist office of Oia is located. It is recommended to take a break at this spot to contemplate the only Cistercian monastery in Europe that was built next to the coastline; the architectural jewel of Oia that has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC).
