1st-century Roman bridge over the Ulla River that gave name to the area for almost ten centuries. In fact, some historians trace its origins to Caesar Augustus himself. It was remodelled a few times, most notably by Master Mateo in the 12th century, but its present appearance is the result of the works of 1911. It is formed by ten arches that connect the provinces of Pontevedra and A Coruña, and it is part of the route used in the Portuguese way of pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The riverbanks are full of marshland and riparian areas.
