It is located in the neighbourhood of Arrabal, far away from the houses of Oia’s town centre. The original hermitage built during the 18th century was dedicated to Saint Anthony. Nowadays the temple is only used during the festivity of Saint Sebastian. It was rebuilt around 1770 and that’s when an image of Saint Sebastian was moved there from the old hermitage located in A Portela (Burgueira). Its last restoration was carried out in 1993. The veneration of Saint Sebastian is associated to the epidemic diseases from the 15th to the 18th centuries.
