Museo etnográfico Liste - Fundación Liste

This museum was created with the objective of preserving and exhibiting the collection of Olimpio Liste Regueiro. It is an ethnographic museum aiming to promote the heritage of Galicia both materially and spiritually. The museum is located in a single-family house which was restored in the mid-20th century and divided into four floors and eleven exhibition rooms that explore significant aspects of Galician identity. Nine of the rooms permanently exhibit more than 2000 objects related to craft works in Galicia, rye farming culture, the traditional wheel, locks, fabrics, carved wood, light, material expressions of faith and the art of healing. The museum provides visitors with the possibility of experiencing different educational activities, temporary exhibitions and recitals, as well as access to its ethnographic library. The building is surrounded by 5,000 m2 of grounds with different tree species and gardens, as well as some structures of great ethnographic value, such as an hórreo (traditional raised granary), a fountain and a washing place.
