Neo-medieval church dating from the last years of the 19th century and designed by the architect Domingo Rodríguez Sesmero.
This church is dedicated to Saint Thomas of London. It’s the only Galician temple dedicated to this saint archbishop of Canterbury and Lord Chancellor of England (1118-70). He was murdered inside his cathedral, at the foot of the altars, by the courtesans of the king Henry II of England. Thomas Becket had done the Way of Saint James around 1167 and stopped in Caldas. The church dedicated to him was built between the years 1890 and 1894 with the remains of the medieval tower of the Queen Urraca, where the king Alfonso VII of Castile and Leon had been born.
