It’s a parish located in the municipality of Oia. In this place appeared the so-called “Pía de Mougás”, a carved stone with a Latin inscription that talked about sacrifices, currently kept in the Museum of Pontevedra. In addition there are several pre-Roman castros and diverse petroglyphs, with the ensemble of “A Cabeciña” standing out. The parish church is located in an outstanding place and oriented following the established parameters: façade facing West, representing the twilight and death, and the main altar facing East, representing the sunrise and life. It is a place where a Pre-Roman tombstone and a Gothic carving of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus, nowadays preserved in the Museum of Pontevedra, were found. The original church is of Romanesque style and dates from 1137, but there are no remains left. The current church was built in 1698 and restored in 1840 by the Tui-born master Xosé Areal. It is a rectangular-shaped temple divided in three sections with semicircular arches supported by pilasters and with a quadrangular apse. It preserves four Baroque altarpieces from the 18th century.
