The Church of Santa Maria de Cela is a Romanesque temple from the 12th century erected by the Order of St John of Jerusalem, known as the Order of Malta. It has a single nave that ends in a rectangular apse. In the presbytery there are two arrowhead arches with strange figures on the bases and capitals. The entrance door is framed by two pointed archivolts, held up by columns. It has a curious tympanum decorated with two lions alongside a hooded figure and three crosses. The atrium, with its wonderful views, houses a cruceiro with a stylised sculpture of Christ, from 1987
