The town of Meiro in Bueu celebrates the food festival of millo corvo (‘crow maize’) every spring. This black maize had not been used for decades, but the Cultural Association of Meiro brought it back in 1998. The recovery included the entire annual cycle, from the preparation of the soil to the harvest of the grain, as well the traditional milling practices. This festival is the final touch to the entire process, where many different products made with this type of maize are waiting to be tasted.
