This lighthouse is located on Ons Island, which is a part of the Galician Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park. It is situated on the highest point of the island, 22.5 metres from the north end. The lighthouse was first lit on 13 April 1865 with a light of the fifth order. It is composed of an octagonal tower and a stone building, which has a single floor and two rectangular spaces connected by a courtyard.
