The building run by the AGG (Association of Galician Pipers) which is dedicated to the gaita de fol, to its history, and to one of the most representative gaiteiros of Galicia: Ricardo Portela. A casa da Gaita has a collection of instruments in which, as well as old pipes, there are other musical instruments such as drums, bass drums, clarinets, recorders and little clarinets (requintas). There is information on the traditional way of learning to play the pipes and the history of these. This collection also has an exhibition of more than 30 old photographs related to the pipes and the pipers, along with multimedia resources that bring you closer to the history and production of all Galician musical instruments. Visitors will also discover all about the life of Ricardo Portela, the founding chairman of honour of the Association of Galician Pipers and a benchmark figure amongst traditional Galician musicians. In addition to this exhibition there are activities organised throughout the year related to music and to the traditional culture.
